Nordic also sends its congratulations to Nordic players Cole Venner (13 Premier Boys), Danilo Salgado (14 Premier Boys) and Joe Castano (16 Premier Boys) who have all been selected to participate in Region 1 ODP inter-regional events.

Salgado and Venner have been invited to the Region 1 ODP friendlies in Williamsburg, Virginia from February 24th to 26th.

Castano was selected to play in the Interregional competition, January 26-29 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. This is the home of the Residency National Pool Players and the U17 National Team coaches will be in attendance to observe.

He will train with the Region 1 96' team and compete against the other US Youth Soccer Regional teams.

Castano was selected after the Penn State regional training/tryout this past weekend where 45 players competed for 16 spots on the team to represent Region 1.

The "Centre of Excellence" is a supplemental training and playing opportunity for the selected participant. The "Centre of Excellence" will meet once weekly for training sessions throughout a 5 week period, guided ONLY by Full National licensed coaches. We will arrange a match/play date for the final week of the 5 week session. For a full list of session 1 and 2 invitees, click here.

After a week-end of fantastic soccer, Nordic 12 Boys fell to a strong BRYC Elite team from Virginia in Tuesdays final.

After a close, hard fought 0-0 first half, Elite started the stronger of the 2 teams in the second half and scored 2 early goals to take a 2-0 lead. Nordic pulled 1 goal back with 9 minutes to go from Max Hamrell and continued to pressure through the final few minutes, Nordic boys couldn't find the equalizing goal and ended up with a tough 2-1 loss.

Despite the loss, Nordic 12 Premier Boys can be very proud of their highly successful week-end, becoming the first VT team to advance to a Regionals final.
